Hourly Service Pricing Calculator

Some services are too long, or too different each time, for one flat price. Color work, specialty nail designs and anything over 4 hours are often billed by the hour instead. The rate has to pay for more than the time in the chair: the consultation before, the setup and the cleanup after, the product the work uses, and a profit on top.

Solo providers enter what an hour of their time should pay them; owners enter the provider’s hourly wage and any commission. Add your monthly rent and the hours you work a month, other overhead, supplies, card processing and your profit margin (30% or more). Product is split in two: a fixed amount every appointment, such as a color formula, and an amount per hour, such as nail art. Then enter the unbillable minutes, any minimum booking, a deposit and the estimated length of a long service like a full set of lash extensions.

You get a recommended hourly rate, the price for the estimated length after the minimum and rounding up to the next half hour, the deposit to take at booking, every cost and the profit margin. Treat it as a starting point: demand and your experience still matter.
